2019 VOICE ARTS® AWARDS
Warner Bros. Studios Will Rock With Excitement
When Winners Named At Voice Arts® Awards Gala
November 7, 2019

(VOXtra) - The Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank will be rocking with whoops, hollers and applause Sunday night, November 17, as scores of winners of the 2019 Voice Arts® Awards competition are announced at the star-studded Gala.

Now in its sixth year - created and presented by the Society of Voice Arts and Sciences® (SOVAS) - this is the voice-over industry's premier awards competition, often referred to as the "Oscars of voice-over acting."

Also at the Gala:
  • actor Ving Rhames will receive this year's Voice Arts® Icon Award,
  • Manuela Testolini, founder and head of In A Perfect World foundation, will be presented the Muhammad Ali Voice of Humanity Honor by her husband Eric Beńet,
  • Emmy-nominated voice actor Peter Cullen (pictured) - the voice of Optimus Prime in the Transformers animated series, and so much more - will be the first Voice Arts® Lifetime Achievement recipient, and
  • award-winning Telemundo journalist and Latina television personality Venessa Hauc will receive the Voice Arts® Environmental Award.
And that's not all, folks. A day earlier, at SOVAS' annual That's Voiceover! Career Expo (at the Hilton Universal Hotel in Universal City), will commence the honor roll as:
  • actor/producer Katee Sackhoff receives the Backstage Vanguard Award for Media and Entertainment, presented by 2-time Golden Globe winner Edward James Olmos, and
  • voice actor Jim Cummings - the voice of Winnie the Pooh and Tigger - receives the first ever Voice Arts® Legacy Award, presented by 8-time Emmy winning voice director Andrea Romano.
"I am ever more moved by our mission to recognize the power of the human voice to have a positive impact on humanitarian pursuits – the uplift of humankind," says SOVAS CEO Rudy Gaskins

"I see no better community than voice actors to own this mission as a life practice and to contemplate the legacy of their voices, not only as actors, but as human beings who made a positive difference for all."

RED CARPET, AWARDS, PARTY & TICKETS

An awards Gala without a Red Carpet? Not this one, of course.

Red carpet arrivals and a catered reception begin Sunday afternoon at 3 pm. The awards presentation is expected to begin at 6:10, followed by an After Party at the Warner Bros. Studios.

I am very proud to say that I have been Involved in the Voice Arts Awards many times, and it is no joke! This event is well thought out, and brainstormed by SOVAS’ very own Rudy Gaskins & Joan Baker and their staff! It truly is just like the Oscars for Voice Actors on the Red Carpet, to the programs, paparazzi, hors d'oeuvres, to the beautiful Nominee Plaques, to the Winning Gold Statues: And bringing a huge Best of the Best VO community together, in celebration of their achievements! IT REALLY DOES TAKE AN ARMY TO PUT THIS PRODUCTION INTO PLAY!!! I THANK YOU FROM THE HEART.
