2022 AUDIE AWARDS® 'Audiobook of Year' and Best Narrators Announced At Virtual Audie Awards® Ceremony Friday Night March 5, 2022 (VOXtra) - In a worldwide virtual ceremony streamed live on YouTube Friday night, the Audio Publishers Association (APA) announced winners of the 2022 Audie Awards® with top honors going to:
The Audie Awards is the audiobook industry's premier awards program, recognizing distinction in audiobooks and spoken-word entertainment. With amiable humor that included his own recent experience in audiobook narration, host Kal Penn (pictured - actor, author, narrator, producer and former Associate Director of the White House Office of Public Engagement), guided the recorded upbeat 1-1/4 hour ceremony through presentations in 25 categories by guest presenters. Highly engaging and informative were numerous brief recorded interviews with narrators who shared tips about their craft and what they enjoy about their career. And prior to the ceremony, a live and lively streamed pre-show (screenshot) was hosted by Suzanne Elise Freeman at a Los Angeles "watch party" and Jennifer Jill Arya in New York, bringing dozens of laughs and faces to the screen. It notably started with a fundraiser for Ukraine relief through attendees donating services and art. Congratulations to the winners and all nominees!
